Children's Liturgy of the Word

The purpose of Children’s Liturgy is to offer the children of the parish an understanding of the weekly Scripture readings at their level of development.

It is a celebration of the Liturgy of the Word designed especially for children from ages five to ten, who have not yet received their First Communion. It takes place at the 9:30 a.m. Sunday Mass from September through May.

Adult and teen volunteers lead the liturgy and seek to engage the children through explanation, discussion, stories, and music. Parents are always welcome to attend.

We are always seeking adult or teen parish members to join us as leaders (following a developed plan) or more easily, as assistants, simply on-hand to help wrangle the chaos as the children get settled in and occasionally are a little wiggly. Joining as an assistant would help us to keep at least two adults present at all times.
 
The commitment is light – usually about once per month – and you can specify dates that are convenient for you.  The rewards are great!
